Heart Stopping Elie Saab Fall Couture 2014

Thursday, 10 July 2014

Hello lovelies!

When I checked the PCW schedule for Wednesday I practically screeched for joy when I saw Elie Saab's name grace the list, my sister can testify to that.

Every season collection I am never disappointing with Elie Saab and the beautiful wonderful creations that come down the runway and this year was no exception.

Utterly romantic and lavish embellishments were definitely on the mind when the mood boards were drawn up for this haute couture collection. Generously beaded and ornate prints and laces were to be spotted on the gorgeous flowing gowns with romantic v-cuts and curve emphasizing waists.

The colour palette was also worth taking note for this fall. Warm navys, pinks, burgundys, golds and of course startling whites were featured in the looks not just as tone-on-tone compliments but as soft ombrés. I thought the fur shoulder wraps were a nice touch too.

This is one of my many favourite looks.

Who else just shed a tear for this beauty?

The last of wonderful London Fashion Week

Wednesday, 20 February 2013

Hello lovelies,

Merry Mid-Week slump to all! Along with having a usual tired old Wednesday I've also received one of my mock examinations results back and of course it had to be the worst of them all, Maths. But oh well I'll have to improve.

But now it's time to move on to the last day of London Fashion Week sadly.

Simone Rocha opened the day with another beautifully classic collection. A distinct level of feminine grace and purity that is so like her father's style. Perhaps this collection differs from that of her father's because it appears to be more modern and styled to be more adaptable and wearable for younger women.

Dublin born Paul Costelloe incorporated a similar purity and elegance that seemed to be a common trend this LFW. Tweeds, well fitted coats, collars and buttons donated a demure and mature aesthetic to this collection.

Roksanda Ilinic's collection this year was very dynamic with hints of feminine silhouettes and soft colours and modern twists.

Tata-Naka gave us retro printed and colourful looks. A very charming and youthful collection.

Ostwald Helgason collection was short and sweet. An exotic and Eastern theme was obvious with silk patterned fabrics and origami prints.

So London is packed up and gone for another few months and what a week it was? Seems to me that pure and sleek silhouettes in bold or deep toned colours with patterned or lined detailing are up for this Fall season.

London Fashion Week Day F-O-U-R

Tuesday, 19 February 2013

Hello lovelies,

Hope you're all in very good health this fine evening. Unfortunately I'm not too happy today because this will be my second last post on the lovely LFW as today is the official last day! It's really shot by but hopefully tomorrow I'll have some gorgeous collections to finish up with.

Some of my favourite designers out there at the moment are Peter Pilotto and Christopher De Vos of Peter Pilotto and as per usual this collection was as dynamic and interesting as ever. Beautiful bold colours and skillfully designed modern prints.

Louise Gray, Topshop's NEWGEN wonder child produced classic wild and energetic collection that really bubbled with creativity and that trademark London adventurousness.

Right up beside Elie Saab on my top favourite designers is Erdem. I always admire the level of delicate beauty and elegance captured in the pieces while at the same time having a strong impact. This collection was slightly different to the bright, pretty pieces we usually see coming down the Erdem runway but perhaps the darker more seductive style works for the Fall/Winter season.

Huishan Zhang played the slim-chic card but with a slightly feminine and delicate touch. Strong looks accented by pretty detailing.

That's it for today as I've got some school work to attend to and I can't get behind so early on in this term!

Ciara.
