Fashion moves to London!

Monday, 17 September 2012

And yes it's another fashion blog. I'm sorry but seriously what else do you expect me to blog about when we're in the middle of fashion weeks left right and centre?
All the buzz and hype have evacuated the sophisticated streets of New York and have jet setted over to new age modern London for a breath of fresh fashion. And that's just what I have in store for you guys right here!

I have to say London's designers are some of top favourites out there because of the constant barrier pushing and new creations I see season after season and so far LFW has not failed to impress me.

sass & bide produced some wonderful monochrome wonders which was spruced up with quality structure, draping and detail.

Topshop's NEWGEN  Holly Fulton brought out her cute and quirky side pastel retro era pieces. I'm especially loving the huge round sunnies on display!

John Rocha used a lot of 'ruched' and airy fabrics and cuts to make some of his looks look airy fairy summery light! I loved the bright and light colours which were only emphasised when he brought out some elegant black silken and heavier materials.

House Of Holland set out to enforce its bold and unique aesthetic in the runway with interesting pattern and colour mixes.

And I think that's enough fashion talk for today guys but be prepared there is much much more to come! There are so many wonderful collections out there at the moment I have to narrow them all down.
Really sorry if you're not into all this but hey at least I've given you some nice pictures to look at ;)
Thanks for reading,
Ciara.

As always because my invite was lost in the post these are not my photos. I've sourced them from londonfashionweek.co.uk

The last of New York Fashion Week

Sunday, 16 September 2012

Okay so I'm sorry it's been nearly over a week since my last post but school has been a nightmare. Curse the Leaving Cert and all the work I have to put in! On top of all of that I have the worst cold/cough I've had in a while so my whole day today has consisted of Lemsip Lemon and Blackcurrant Max and making Irish notes for stuff I can't even understand in English.

But enough of the pity party for me I'm here to talk about some more amazing pieces of pure gorgeousness that I saw during New York Fashion Week (which I just keep pretending I attended).

Zac Posen brought out the big guns in his Z -Spoke collection and I was impressed as always by his floral summer dresses and beautiful figure loving gowns in luxurious materials. Of course Naomi Campbell Erin O'Connor and Coco Rocha couldn't do any harm either! This collection has  got to be one of my all time favourites.

Of course I have to praise Vera Wang and her gorgeous layered laces, embellishment and brilliant colours. It's oh so sophisticated luxury.

I have to say J. Mendel did a good job with his gorgeous gowns and plunging V neck cuts. I also love the flowing material and can never get enough of any of Medel's super feminine gowns. Anyone want to buy me a get well soon present?

And to top it all off Rodarte brought out some very new edge digital printing thigh splitting full length dresses. I don't know about you but I got a slightly chinese warrior-esque feel to this collection.

So right lads that's it from me about New York's best hope you enjoyed and it wasn't all too 'fashiony' for the average reader I tried my best to include lots of pictures!
Have a nice Sunday and thanks for reading,
Ciara.

P.S I don't own any of these photos my sourse is style.com

New York Fashion Week: Someone buy me these clothes!

Saturday, 8 September 2012

Dia duit!
I hope September is treating you all well I know I'm glad to be sitting in the sunshine for once! It actually feels like the middle of summer instead of the start of autumn which is scary in a way because it shouldn't be over 21 degrees Celsius right now. But that being said let me get down to this blog. I was supposed to have a baking post for you today but my mom went ahead and baked without me so you'll have to deal with a fashion post! I promise I'll cook something soon, perhaps tomorrow?
Many of you won't know but I'm somewhat of a fashion addict so I'm seizing the opportunity to talk about New York Fashion Week. Although I'm obviously not able to go to New York this week I've been devouring all the fashion sites to catch up on what's been happening in the fashion world. So today I'll take you through some of the designers I've been reading about and of course show you some photos too because what's a blog without pictures?.
First on my list is Jenni Kayne who produces amazing ready-to-wear fashion that is actually wearable for the normal sized young woman. I really loved this season's chic printed trousers and shorts and preppy shirts.

She also used an amazing shade of fuchsia pink for an evening dress that was to die for!

Next up is BCBG Max Azria who showcased some gorgeous black and white numbers including minimal cut floor length dresses and more structured feminine midi length items.

I particularly like the variations of silks and eastern patterned laces used in the materials.

Lastly we have Tadashi Shoji, a Japanese born American impressed with his flowing gowns and rich colours. A definite boho eastern feel to his patterns too, perfect for me on a hot summer's day travelling in some exotic country.

I think that's just about enough fashion for the average reader but please do tell me who you are loving this S/S 2013. Just leave a comment below because I'd love to know and chat to some of you.
Thanks for reading,
Ciara.
P.S If anyone wants to get me an early birthday present you have basically a partial wish list right here. ;)

I don't own any of the photos. They're sourced from style.com .
