New York Fashion Week: Someone buy me these clothes!

Dia duit!
I hope September is treating you all well I know I'm glad to be sitting in the sunshine for once! It actually feels like the middle of summer instead of the start of autumn which is scary in a way because it shouldn't be over 21 degrees Celsius right now. But that being said let me get down to this blog. I was supposed to have a baking post for you today but my mom went ahead and baked without me so you'll have to deal with a fashion post! I promise I'll cook something soon, perhaps tomorrow?
Many of you won't know but I'm somewhat of a fashion addict so I'm seizing the opportunity to talk about New York Fashion Week. Although I'm obviously not able to go to New York this week I've been devouring all the fashion sites to catch up on what's been happening in the fashion world. So today I'll take you through some of the designers I've been reading about and of course show you some photos too because what's a blog without pictures?.
First on my list is Jenni Kayne who produces amazing ready-to-wear fashion that is actually wearable for the normal sized young woman. I really loved this season's chic printed trousers and shorts and preppy shirts.

She also used an amazing shade of fuchsia pink for an evening dress that was to die for!

Next up is BCBG Max Azria who showcased some gorgeous black and white numbers including minimal cut floor length dresses and more structured feminine midi length items.

I particularly like the variations of silks and eastern patterned laces used in the materials.

Lastly we have Tadashi Shoji, a Japanese born American impressed with his flowing gowns and rich colours. A definite boho eastern feel to his patterns too, perfect for me on a hot summer's day travelling in some exotic country.

I think that's just about enough fashion for the average reader but please do tell me who you are loving this S/S 2013. Just leave a comment below because I'd love to know and chat to some of you.
Thanks for reading,
Ciara.
P.S If anyone wants to get me an early birthday present you have basically a partial wish list right here. ;)

I don't own any of the photos. They're sourced from style.com .

Top o' the mourning to ya'!
So I've finally managed to set aside some time for me to write a wee blog for you guys. I've been super busy with school work and being a hermit that I just had to put down my homework and get down to it. I give you my last day in the beautiful Doolin.
The first stop we made on our way home was to a local fudge shop that caught my eye. It's a family business ran by two sisters and a friend who hand make and sell their own gorgeous fudge. What a job!

I have got to say their peanut butter fudge was just too amazing. I ate my whole slice in about 5 minutes. You can find the Doolin Chocolate Shop online here and I would definitely stop by if you're ever by chance in Doolin.

Next on the agenda before heading off was to say goodbye to our lovely neighbours and to the beautiful bay.
They were just perfect to spend the holiday with, hardly made a sound if you forget about  the time they scared me half to death when the walked around the tent inn the middle of the night.

I'm guessing this is what many people think about when they picture Ireland. I can assure you it's not all cows and luscious green fields.

And finally the thing I had been looking forward to for the whole trip, the visit to the Féar Gorta (translates as 'the starved grass' in irish). These tea and garden rooms were visited twice by the brilliant Steven Spielberg just to get a taste of the lovely red berry glazed cheesecake. I practically hit the floor when I walked by the table stacked high with cakes and treats.

The quiche lorraine I had was like eating heaven with bits of bacon mixed into the eggy clouds.

It's like something from one of my dreams.

Overall I would definitely head back to Doolin for the sole purpose of eating my entire weight in fudge, quiche and cakes. If you're blessed with a sunny weekend a trip to Co.Clare is in order!
Thanks for reading,
Ciara.

This is real Ireland. Aran Islands.

Thanks for stopping by!
I'm currently sitting on the floor nearly falling asleep after my first jog in about a year (yes I'm trying to get rid of my laziness) and I thought I'd write a blog for you before the day kicks off.
Last weekend my parents and my sister and I headed off to the west of Ireland to a place called Doolin in County Clare. I was feeling pretty negative about spending the weekend in the back end of nowhere but it turned out to be a grand old trip.

We got up early on the first day to catch a boat to Inismór which is one of the trio of islands that make up the Aran Islands of the coast of Ireland.

Thankfully the weather was absolutely gorgeous while we were there and I managed to snap a few photos while were were cycling around the island.

These tomb stones are in a place called the Seven Chapels which are the ruins of an old church a few hundred years old.

We cycled for about two hours and then my parents decided the wanted to hike up to Dun Aonghasa, an old fort, and thank god we did because I would have never have seen these amazing 300ft cliffs.

My mom wouldn't let me stand up so close to the edge so I settled for sitting down. It was pretty windy so that was probably the best idea.
So that's the first day of Doolin over and done with I hope you enjoyed seeing what the true Ireland is like and I have much more to tell you about my trip. Spoiler it involves some good tastin' fudge.
Thanks for reading,
Ciara.
