New York Fashion Week Continues (Part 3)

Tuesday, 12 February 2013

Hello lovelies,

Good evening to all and I hope you're full to the brim with gorgeous pancakes because I know I am. (Cue undoing of the jeans button)

I thought I'd do another blog today because I can't afford to fall behind on the going-ons in New York as London Fashion Week is straight after and I must to be ready for it.

Zac Posen who is known ever so well for his beautiful floor length gowns did not fail to impress this season with brilliantly elegant pieces made from luxurious materials of seductive colouring.

Mathieu Mirano gave us classic chic minimalism with soft tones of cream and black. A lovely neutral yet balanced collection.

Carolina Herrera wowed with sleek feminine silhouettes and just perfect detailing. The materials, the pattern, the tones, everything was just perfect from start to finish.

Crazy as ever Betsey Johnson had her models running around in shocked up wigs and gabbing into their phones. The classic energetic and electrical Betsey atmosphere was not lost when it came to the clothes which featured a lot of play on animal prints, bright colours and lots of 'out there' layering.

Now I'm not the biggest fan of Reem Acra but the gowns featured in this collection really were spectacular. An intense sense of feminine power and strong beauty that made quite an impact.

Right so that's it from me today on NYFW I think maybe I'll be able to squeeze out one more post on New York before I move on to London which, to be honest is what I'm really looking forward too.

Thanks for reading,
Ciara.

For the men....London Fashion Week F/W '13

Friday, 18 January 2013

Hello lovelies!

Happy weekend everyone hope you all had a wonderful week. With all the snow forecast for Ireland and England I thought I'd warm you up with a review of London's Fashion Week's men's collections for Fall/Winter 2013.

First up is Topman. I have to say although it's their high fashion collection and its therefore supposed to be weird and out of the box the loose trousers and parka material reminded me of new age astronaut uniforms. Not really attractive if I do say myself.

I'm all for kilts but really?

However they were saved by just a few pieces.

This knit jumper teemed with rough brown leather boots.

And I have to say I'm in love with this straight edge jacket and well fitted suit.

Now if you're into clean cut and well fit suits Lou Dalton is your girl. I was very impressed by the modern aesthetic brought about in these looks.

And of course the classic tux.

Hackett London didn't fail to produce some handsome pieces of classic English gentlemen-ship. Tweeds, wool blends, suits, bow ties and even velvet.

And lastly Jonathan Saunders came through with a pop of colour and youthful designs for guys who don't necessarily want to feel like they're walking down Saville Row in the 1800s.

So that's it from me about some of my favourites from London Fashion Week Men's F/W '13.

Enjoy the weekend,
Ciara.
